What We do

The Sierra Leone Project was established to meet the needs of children in Sierra Leone. Some of the children have been abused, some are orphans, and others have parents that are too poor to care for them. Sierra Leone is a country stricken by poverty with very little industry. You may have heard about this country in the recent years as one that was affected by Ebola. This project rescues children from living on the streets and gives them hope. Pastor Francis, his wife Agnes, and other staff give these children a loving home with God as the center. They know everything they are given comes from their Heavenly Father.

Because of the generous donations of supporters, the children receive:

Two meals a day of nutritional food
Clothing/shoes/material needs
Education
Clean water
Medical care
A loving home and a bed to sleep in
Staff to take care of the children and the grounds
Peace of mind

How else are we involved?

Spreading the gospel in the villages surrounding Moribatown is part of the big picture for Pastor Rogers. Pastors are going to places that have not heard of the name of Jesus. They are going to the ends of the earth.

Throughout the years, our teams have been blessed to meet and develop relationships with the pastors. Those relationships have revealed the challenges and hardships of the pastors and their families as they seek to minister and present the Gospel within individual villages. After taking these needs to prayer, God has provided:

Motorbikes
Medical assistance,
Parsonages
Schools,
PA systems,
Agricultural programs,
Clothing
A cargo boat

The gospel has moved forward through:

increased mobility of the pastors, through
bible lessons taught in the schools, through
working side by side in gardens with non-Christian men and women, and simply by
taking every opportunity to express the love of Christ.

This project is made possible by New Hope Initiative. New Hope Initiative is a faith-based, non-profit organization that has a compelling desire to bring real positive change to some of the poorest communities in the world. We do that by a multi-faceted approach of nutritional, educational, economic, and spiritual assistance. We partner with respected local leaders in some of the world’s most difficult neighborhoods to offer self-sustaining projects of hope that will change a community forever. We accomplish this by leveraging the gifts, talents, and passions of people, like you, all over the world who want to help us make this world a better place.
