The Thomas boys lost their father to illness. Their mother struggled for years taking care of them and their elder siblings. The mother was given help by the church when they had the means to do so. The mother gave her life over to Christ. Francis and Phil recognized the needs of the family and offered to take the boys in. The mother was overjoyed. Shortly after the boys left her, she become very sick and required surgery. The cost of the surgery and subsequent medication would not have been possible if the boys still lived with her. She praises God that He provided a loving, Christian home for the boys and that she was able to receive treatment for her illness. She feels this would not have been the case had she not given her life to Christ.
